The idea to do this project came from wanting to do something music-orientated for my major project, but not basing it around a kind of music I already love and know a lot about; I wanted to look into a genre I had no idea what was about and did not particularly like.

As it stands now, the visual language of Black Metal has grown quite stagnant and relies heavily upon clichés in order to communicate the radical elements the genre encompasses, so I felt this was a good time to do something about it, and take it back to its roots.

I did this by creating a new visual identity represented by the box and its contents.
